Shipping Charges

To Western States
AZ, CA, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, UT, WA, WY

Orders to these states are sent by UPS 3-day air service.  Shipping charges are $17.50 for up to 6 plants, plus 50¢ for each additional plant.  Shipping for one plant is $17.50, six plants is $17.50, seven plants is $18.00, eight plants is $18.50, and so on.  Because of restrictions imposed by these States, all plants must be shipped bare-root.

Alaska and Hawaii

Sorry but we do not ship to these States.  We ship only by UPS and rates to these areas and time in transit make it impractical.

All other States

Plants shipped to these states are generally shipped in pots by UPS ground service. Shipping charges are $10.00 for the first six plants, plus 50¢ for each additional plant.  Shipping for one plant is $10.00, six plants is $10.00, seven plants is $10.50, eight plants is $11.00 and so on.

We do not ship outside the U.S.

When Will We Ship Your Plants

Our Shipping Schedule

At this time of year, plants are generally shipped within 7 days, often sooner.  If we receive your order in time to process and ship it so that it can be delivered by Friday, you should receive the order the week it is placed.  Otherwise, since we do not want the plants to sit in a UPS truck over the weekend, we will ship the following week.  This is our goal, but it is not a promise.  Our plants are grown outside, and rain can make them too wet to ship.

Areas shaded pink - These states require us to ship our plants bare-root.  The soil is removed from the plants and they are wrapped in damp newspaper.  While packing the plants in this manner may result in rumpled leaves, there is virtually no difference in the performance of the plants in the garden.

Areas marked with an "X" - Hostas are moisture loving plants that require a period of cold induced winter dormancy to perform well.  Hostas are more difficult to grow in these areas, and probably cannot be grown successfully in warm winter areas. More>>

The numbers on the map refer to early spring shipping and do not apply to shipping at this time.

We do not ship outside the U.S.

Requesting a Shipping Date

If you would like your plants held for later shipment, send us an email and let us know when you would like them to be sent.  We are sorry, but it is not practical for us to hold an order for more than 3 weeks.
