Dark green leaves, slightly cupped, with a satiny sheen, held upright on

528400 Ginko Craig Craig
1986
Pointed, narrow lance shaped leaves of green,
edged and streaked with white. When the plant matures, which can take a
number of years, the leaves are very different and it doesn't look
like the same plant. Leaves get larger, with a bit of corrugation, and
the margin gets wider. Multiplies rapidly, excellent as a ground
cover or edger. Purple flowers.

529100
Gold Standard P. Banyai 1976
This is simply one of the best hostas ever introduced. The
foliage is unremarkable as it emerges, medium green with a slightly darker edge, but the
center gradually lightens to a beautiful bright golden yellow, while the dark green edge
holds. A sport of Hyacinthina, it is a vigorous grower and multiplies
rapidly. It has the typical Fortunei shape and size, maturing to a graceful spreading
mound about 3 across. Too much light and the yellow fades to white in the summer,
but with the right exposure, the color is hard to beat. Lavender flowers.

533100 Guacamole Solberg 1994
Frankly, I didn’t know why this plant
was so popular until I saw it in a large clump. If you see it as a small
plant, the coloring can be a bit subtle and, to me, it doesn't show
itself as well as when it gets big. It really is quite
impressive. It is a sport from ‘Fragrant Bouquet’ found in tissue
culture. It has rounded light green leaves with a dark green margin.
Flowers are light lavender and fragrant, not as large as plantaginea,
but flared open, up to 3" wide.

533400 Gypsy Rose
Winterberry
Farms NR
This is an interesting new sport from Jim Anderson at Winterberry Farms
tissue culture lab. It is a sport of ‘Striptease’, and when young, the
two are indistinguishable. As ‘Gypsy Rose’ matures, however, it stays
considerably smaller than ‘Striptease’ and, in my opinion, has better,
cleaner color. It has the same dark green margin, while the center of
the leaf changes from lighter green to creamy yellow with the
distinctive narrow white line between the center and margin. Lavender
flowers.
